Parental
involvement in a child’s education has long proved to have
positive results. Being involved at the school level ensures
that you have accurate and timely information about the
issues affecting your child.
At
Newtonbrook, the School Council promotes good communication
between parents and the school’s administration, teaching
staff and support staff. The meetings provide an opportunity
for parents to contribute their ideas and concerns regarding
a variety of issues. It is also a place to receive
information on happenings at the school. Information from
the School Board and Ministry of Education are also
presented here. Parents are often asked for their input into
issues regarding student learning. Our meetings are open to
all parents and are a great forum for information sharing.
